One of the few institutions in the country devoted to the photographic arts, the Museum of Photographic Arts houses more than 7,000 works, representing the entire history of photography, its aesthetic movements, and technological advancements. Illustrating the complex and varied history of the medium, the museum's collection is particularly strong in modern and contemporary work, specifically social documentary photography and photojournalism. The museum is also home to a state-of-the-art movie theater.

Special youth programs and classes explore techniques in film, photography and other media. Illustrating the complex and varied history of the medium, the museum’s collection is particularly strong in modern and contemporary work, specifically social documentary photography and photojournalism.
The Edmund L. & Nancy K. Dubois Library is one of the few libraries in the country dedicated solely to the subject of photography. The Library's collection contains more than 20,000 items, including artist monographs, rare books, magazines, reference materials, and more. The Library is an incredible resource for anyone with an interest in the medium of photography, and a wonderful place to visit for visual inspiration, quiet study, research, and reflection.
