The San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory, founded in 1945, is the sixth oldest operating youth orchestra in the United States.
SDYS has trained more than 8,000 students over the years with 470 youth musicians between the ages of 7 and 25 enrolling each season in its educational ensembles. The San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory provides rigorous and high quality music training within a fun environment where lifelong friends are made. SDYS takes pride in our ability to provide access to our ensembles to music students all over the San Diego area.
Sept.-May on Saturdays students rehearse in Balboa Park to prepare for upcoming performances. Get a behind the scenes experience as the students work to perfect their orchestral repertoire at these open rehearsals in Casa Del Prado, Rm 207.
Saturday's are open rehearsals for the public to come and watch. These rehearsals take place throughout the day from 8:30am to 5:30pm. For exact times call the office or check our website.
